ICE Certification 101 Online Modules

The ICE Certification 101 Online Modules are designed as a training tool for new certification staff and an on-boarding tool for volunteer leaders, providing the basic knowledge needed to effectively perform in their respective roles.

This dynamic training tool will allow you to educate your staff and volunteers in the best practices of administering a certification program based on the NCCA standards.  These on-demand modules include interactive assessments that will allow you to measure how quickly your staff and/or volunteers are grasping the concepts.

The six modules include...

The Business of Certification

• Learn how the stakeholders of a certification program benefit, what makes certification programs unique, and what is required to ensure a successful, meaningful program.

Program Governance and Operations

• Receive an introduction to the responsibilities of an effective governing body and its role in successfully overseeing and growing your program
• Understand the best practices required to administer a quality certification program

Policies and Procedures

• Review the policies and procedures that are essential to all certification programs, and learn why they are necessary to maintain a quality program.

Psychometric Concepts and Analyses

• This module covers basic psychometric principles and examines the type of analyses used to evaluate the quality of a certification candidate.

Assessment Development and Delivery

• Understand the major steps in developing fair and accurate assessments and learn how to best administer these assessments based on the nature of the program.

Legal Concepts Related to Credentialing

• Become familiar with pertinent laws and learn how to minimize your organization’s legal risk as a nonprofit certifying body.
• The content provided in this program is consistent with the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs, which define the minimum requirements for a quality certification program.

The tool is available for purchase as a package containing all six modules or as individual modules.  Purchasing a package allows 3 staff members or volunteers access to the tool for a two year period; additional user subscriptions are available.  Individual modules only allow for one user.
