Governance Excellence for Certifying Organizations
Jim Kendzel, MPH, CAE
This in-person workshop will provide a focused look at governance principles for members of a certification governing body or committee. In addition to providing an overview of what great governance is and how to build great governing teams, this workshop will help you as governing board or committee members determine what are the critical success factors of your board or committee and help you to define your desired leadership characteristics. This is a great training session for first-time and seasoned governing board/committee members and staff. Workshops include continental breakfast and lunch.
Here's how one ICE member has integrated the training into their current program:
"As a part of our annual orientation program for all new board members and executive level staff, the NBSTSA utilizes the ICE Governance Excellence for Certifying Organizations workshop. We found that this one-day training provides a wide-ranging overview of critical competencies and success factors for our governance team, including leadership styles, role delineation, and successful strategies. This workshop is a time and cost effective way to orient newer members and help re-focus existing board members. I am confident that you'll find it to be an outstanding and invaluable addition to your internal orientation program."
