Accreditation Update

NCCA ACCREDITATION APPLICATION MOVES ONLINE

ICE is pleased to announce that it will be moving forward with an online version of the NCCA accreditation application for those organizations wishing to have their certification programs reviewed against the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs.

While the online system will be in development in early 2012 with an expected launch of late summer or early fall, in the interim period the submission requirements for the current NCCA application have changed.

The Commission will no longer require hard copies of the application or exhibit documentation.  The Commission will also no longer require that 12 CDs be submitted containing the electronic PDF copy of the application.  Instead, applicants will only need to submit a single, bookmarked PDF file containing the application, exhibits, and required forms for each program that they wish to submit for consideration.  This PDF document can be submitted to ICE’s secure dropbox location at https://dropbox.yousendit.com/NCCA-Applications

Please download the application form at www.credentialingexcellence.org/NCCA and read the instructions carefully for full details on completing and submitting your accreditation application.

If you have questions about the submission requirements or accreditation process, please contact us at (202) 367-1165 or info@credentialingexcellence.org.

ICE ANNOUNCES FIRST ACCREDITED ASSESSMENT-BASED CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

ICE is pleased to announce that the Carpenters International Training Fund (CITF) has achieved accreditation of its UBC Rigging and Signaler certificate program under ICE 1100: Standard for Assessment-Based Certificate Programs. CITF participated in the pilot accreditation program based on the 1100 standard that was published in 2009 and is the first program to have achieved accreditation.

The pilot program has now concluded, and ICE will take the recommendations from our pilot program reviewers to determine if any changes should be made to the 1100 Standard and to the program policies and procedures.  ICE intends to launch the full accreditation program in Fall 2012.
