In June 2019, the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) initiated a research project to explore how private certification organizations use information about an individual’s criminal history in making credentialing decisions.
Competency modeling was identified as an area of interest to ICE members and the larger stakeholder community. Specifically, its aim is to inform credential owners and other stakeholders on the topic of competency modeling and its potential relevance to professional credentialing.
This report will summarize “Part 2” of the Small Program Issues study, which is intended to discuss and provide suggestions for methods that could be used to address some of the specific challenges small programs face.
