Terreline Sims, MS, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

Terreline is the Assistant Director of Certification Services, in the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification Department. Terreline has been with ANCC for over 10 years and has previously served in the capacity of the Manager, Certification Registration and Assistant Director, Certification Registration, New Business Integration and Performance Improvement.

As the Assistant Director of Certification Services, Terreline is responsible for the overall management and strategic leadership of the Registration, Accreditation and Governance work units; by ensuring timely and accurate reviews of certification applications and supporting documentation, as well as confirming eligibility requirements are met for candidates to sit for certification examinations. Terreline manages the staff and deliverables related to acquiring and maintaining national accreditation of ANCC’s active certifications programs. She also serves as the department legal liaison, responsible for all matters that could compromise the mission and integrity of the organization and the staff liaison to the external governing body, the ANCC Commission on Board Certification (COC).



 Diane Thompkins, MS, RN, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

Diane the Certification Accreditation Manager at ANCC. She is responsible for the development, maintenance, and ongoing compliance activities for 17 ANCC certification programs.She has been directly involved in the retiring or sunsetting of over 10 different ANCC certifications due to small volume and regulatory changes in the nursing profession.

Prior to her current ANCC position, Diane was the Assistant Director, Certification Services at ANCC for 9 years. In that role she was responsible for governance, policy, accreditation and regulatory aspects of the ANCC certification programs. She recently celebrated 15 years at ANCC.

Diane spent more than 10 years as a nurse educator at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center Nursing Department where she designed, developed, implemented, and evaluated education programs for nurses.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
