ICE Academy Web Seminar Series
ICE is pleased to provide the Web Seminar Academy Series annually to the credentialing community. The focus of each web seminar is “hands-on” training on practical subjects relevant to the credentialing professional. Each web seminar offers participants new skills and techniques applicable to certification programs in various industries.
Each web seminar will have a distinction of either new to topic or familiar with topic. Each web seminar will be presented via a web-based tool with an audio component as well. Sessions typically run between 1 and 2 hours and can be attended from your office. Should your organization have several employees interested in attending who can share a conference room or office, then only one registration form is required! Employees of your organization attending from different locations need to register separately.
All seminars begin at 2:00 pm EST. Please note that all registered attendees will receive an audio recording of the webinar included as part of the registration fee!
NOTE: You will receive the login information between Monday and end of day Tuesday prior to a Wednesday webinar.

July 28 - Minutes, Electronic Voting, and Other Board Meeting Matters
Speaker: Hugh Webster, Webster, Chamberlain & Bean
This webinar will addresses numerous matters of legal significance related to association Board of Directors meetings, including the content and strategic use of meeting minutes; electronic meetings and voting; executive sessions; the use of Board meetings to demonstrate Directors’ compliance with their fiduciary obligations; and ensuring that discussions of legal concerns are protected by the attorney-client privilege. Also addressed will be Board-only listservs as a supplement to Board meetings; the pros and cons of adhering to Robert Rules of Order; the importance of antitrust statements; and the role of the Board Chair.
September 8 - Alternative Item Types
Speakers: Nikki Eatchel, Prometric and Kathy Gialuca, Pearson VUE
Multiple-choice items have been the mainstay of most credential examinations. As programs have transitioned to computer-based testing, the technology now available allows programs to consider the use of other types of items such as video-based items, drag-and-drop, hotspots, and machine-scored constructed response items. However, just because these types of items are now available does not mean they are well-suited for every program. A test sponsor must weigh the pros and cons of integrating these item types into their programs.
Upcoming Schedule (Note: Subject to Change)
End of Sept/Beginning of Oct - General Overview of Certification Program Accreditation
End of Oct - International and Legal Issues
